After a transaction is settled, funds will pass through your merchant account to the bank account you provided during the application process. Funding is managed by the merchant account provider, so if you are using Braintree Direct, we’ll take care of this for you.
How and when funds are paid out to you will depend on the payment method used and the type of account you have with us. For more specific funding timelines, refer to your bank-specific articles. If you’re unsure where to find these, contact our Accounts team.
Typically, credit card payments will be deposited into your bank account within 2–5 business days after the transaction has settled. If you are an international merchant this timeline might be a little different. Contact us for more details.
Most US merchants have the option to use Braintree’s aggregated Amex account. If you choose to do so, we’ll manage the disbursement of funds and you can expect to see them within 2-5 business days of settlement.
International merchants – and US merchants that would prefer a direct connection – have the option to use an individual Amex account. If you choose to do this, Amex will manage funding for those transactions directly.
PayPal manages the disbursement of funds separately from your Braintree account. Learn more about PayPal funding.
