A new design for the Braintree Control Panel is now available on-demand to all sandbox and production users. Our updated interface incorporates not only a refreshed look and feel, but also a reorganization of functionality and content. Read on to learn more about what to expect if you opt in to the new Control Panel.
You can opt in to use the updated Control Panel at any time. To do so:
- Log into either the production Control Panel or the sandbox Control Panel, depending on which environment you are working in
- In the top right corner of the page, click the toggle for View New Panel
This will automatically refresh your Control Panel with the updated design. You can return to our old design at any time by clicking the toggle again.
Once you have opted in to the updated Control Panel, you can begin exploring our improved layout and strategically refreshed front-end design. The most popular elements within our Control Panel – such as reporting tools – are now better emphasized and easier to find, and the navigational steps for locating specific datasets are more intuitive. In addition to the design refresh, there are two key elements to acknowledge about this altered landscape: the navigation bars and advanced searches.
The primary navigation bar for the updated Control Panel is now located at the top of the page, instead of along the left side. Most of the navigation items remain the same, except for the following:
- The Recurring Billing section has been renamed Subscriptions
- All available transaction reports and summaries, vault reports, and merchant statements are now located in the Reports section
- The Advanced Search section has been removed, but not lost; learn more below
The secondary navigation bar at the top of the old Control Panel has been replaced with three icons to the right of the search bar: a gear, a question mark, and a monogrammed circle.
Click on the gear icon to view all of the sub-sections previously nested under Settings in the old design (e.g. Users and Roles and Processing), but with a few changes. In our new design, Webhooks and Security info are now nested under API, along with your API keys. Additionally, we have added a new menu option labeled Business. This sub-section contains your Merchant ID, Merchant Account IDs, and time zone information, along with any available tax statements and Braintree agreements.
The question mark icon reveals your options for getting help when you need it. Here you will find links to our support articles, developer documentation, and a form for contacting one of our support teams.
The last item in the secondary navigation is a round icon with your first initial. By clicking on this icon, you can access your personal user settings or log out of the Control Panel.
The primary navigation in the new Control Panel design no longer contains a section for Advanced Search. That being said, advanced transaction, verification, vault, and subscription searches are still available for use in pulling custom reporting. Each advanced search option is now incorporated as the landing page for its associated section. For example, if you would like to perform an advanced search on transactions, simply click Transactions in the navigation bar – you'll be able to apply filters and search from there.
